RE: [Query] mib of type TransportAddress

Hi,

 

There can be bugs in the agent code of mine but I want to know what
could be the reason for the peculiar behavior of the manager in the
display msg bcoz I newly observed that in the snmpset the display msg
shown is just a string display 

 

1) # snmpset -v2c  -c motrw 127.0.0.1 clSnmpBootstrapServerAddress.0 =
100874cf00a2

CNEOMI-LITE-BOOTSTRAP-MIB::clSnmpBootstrapServerAddress.0 = STRING:
"100874cf00a2"

 

2) # snmpset -v2c  -c motrw 127.0.0.1 clSnmpBootstrapServerAddress.0 =
100874cf00a2

CNEOMI-LITE-BOOTSTRAP-MIB::clSnmpBootstrapServerAddress.0 = Hex-STRING:
10 08 74 cf 00 a2

 

This has wonder strucking me

So even now the problem can be with the agent code or is this kind of
scenario is observed ever before?

If yes, then I will try to look into all the possibilities of scratching
my head to fix but if this mus be wrong in MIB file which must be
goofing or manager side them pls do let me know as I this can atleast
give me direction

TransportAddress is an octet string, as you mentioned, so that should

actually work just fine.

It is definitely with your code.  But without looking at it (and even

if you had included it, I don't have the time at the moment anyway), I

can't determine what's going wrong.
