NFS sub-agent for Net-SNMP

Hi net-snmp-users,

A few weeks ago, I wished to monitor my NFS servers by SNMP. After lots of Google research, I failed to find any solutions to this matter. There is an MIB created by Sun, but no implementations for Linux.

Hence, starting from the Net-SNMP tutorial, I have rolled my own solution. nfsstats.pl reads values from /proc/net/rpc/nfs and /proc/net/rpc/nfsd and makes these available through snmpd. They can then easily be monitored by MRTG, Cacti, Ganglia, etc.

I havent currently written an MIB for these statistics (which are basically the same as those made available from /usr/sbin/nfsstat).

However, I hope that my script can be of use to others wishing to monitor NFS statistics by SNMP. Patches, suggestions, MIBs etc are welcome.

Regards

Craig
