RE: Question on SNMPv1/2c Community strings and white spaces

Hello Dave,

Yes, I had to quote the com2sec config line. However, I was using
the community name as the security name (i.e. com2sec "test this" default
"test this"). Com2sec was OK, but I am using SNMPv3 and the group config
line for VACM did not like white spaces in the security name, so I used an
alias for the security name and all worked.

Thanks for your help,

Robert Wilcox

In principle, yes it is.
Such a community string might confuse the config file parsers, but I
seem to remember tweaking the code to support this a while back.
You'll almost certainly have to quote the community string, but give
it a whirl.
