I'm using Net-SNMP version 5.3.1, and I'm having problems walking the
MIB when Net-SNMP is configured as a proxy. I have an external agent
that implements the DS1-MIB, and I want to configure Net-SNMP as a proxy
so that I can add in the DS1-MIB provided by the external agent. To do
this, I added the following line to snmpd.conf:

proxy -v2c -c public 192.168.1.1 .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.18

I can query objects in that part of the MIB tree, and I can even walk
that part of the MIB if I start at .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.18. However, if I
try to walk the whole MIB starting at .1, it skips over that part of the
MIB tree. This shows what I'm talking about:

snmpgetnext -v1 -c public -On 127.0.0.1
1.3.6.1.2.1.7.5.1.2.172.16.18.162.1900

.1.3.6.1.2.1.11.1.0 = Counter32: 231

snmpgetnext -v1 -c public -On 127.0.0.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.10

.1.3.6.1.2.1.10.18.6.1.1.1 = INTEGER: 1

If I relocate the DS1-MIB into the enterprises portion of the MIB tree,
then everything works fine. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is
this a known bug?
