Is there a local firewall > (iptables, etc) which might be blocking access to the trap port? Debian Linux, I think. I am checking the port 162, and there is an entry under netstat with that port. I also used nmap and there is an entry: PORT STATE SERVICE 162/tcp closed snmptrap I also made sure that snmptrap is enabled on the machine, and the community string allows snmptrap function.
