Is this device the same system that you are sending the 'snmptrap' request from? Because if "snmptrap -d ...." shows the request being sent, but "snmptrapd -d ..." doesn't show it arriving, then this does sound very much like the trap being dropped somewhere. And the most likely cause (certainly on a Linux system) would be the local firewall settings. What O/S are you running the snmptrapd receiver on? What happens if you send the trap from the same system as the receiver? Does 'snmptrapd -d ...' show anything? > I believe the problem may be in the snmptrap command I am > sending. And if "snmptrap -d ...." shows a packet being sent out, then it's probably not the snmptrap command where the problem lies.
