query on using system call

Hi,

 

            I am using a system call in my snmp agent code where I want
to run a script in the background. This scripts does some tasks & at the
end it wants to restart the snmpd with the latest configuration, so it
tries to restarts the snmpd with the new snmpd.conf.

 

Now the snmpd doesn't come up & infact it throws an error { Error
opening specified endpoint "udp:161" } & because of this any no. of
times I try to restart snmpd on the same port it doesn't come up unless
I restart the board. It also gives the same error If I even comment the
restart of snmpd in the script & do the same.

 

But when I run the script manually to test on the same (not from the
snmp agent system call directly on the board) snmpd is able to come up. 

 

Any sort of Help will be highly thankful.
