I execute the command 'kill -15 PID' on the two servers

For the master agent, I put in the configuration file the parameter:
agentxsocket /home/arnboden/snmp/test/masterFile

For the subagent, I set it dynamically in the code of the subagent:
netsnmp_ds_set_string(NETSNMP_DS_APPLICATION_ID, NETSNMP_DS_AGENT_X_SOCKET, 
"/home/arnboden/snmp/test/masterFile");
