Compilation Problem with 5.3.1

Hi All, I ahave just downloaded the Netsnmp 5.3.1 source code and trying to build it there on the Linux machine. gcc -g -O2 -Dlinux -I/usr/include/rpm -o .libs/snmpd snmpd.o ./.libs/libnetsnmp mibs.so ./.libs/libnetsnmpagent.so helpers/.libs/libnetsnmphelpers.so ../snmplib /.libs/libnetsnmp.so -ldl -lrpm -lrpmio /usr/lib/libpopt.so -lz -lcrypto -lm -W l,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib /usr/lib/libpopt.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [snmpd] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/amit/netsnmp/net-snmp-5.3.1/agent' make: *** [subdirs] Error 1 and also when i try to compile only the perl module, i get the following error no-strict-aliasing -pipe -I/usr/local/include -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET _BITS=64 -I/usr/include/gdbm -O2 -g -pipe -m64 -DVERSION=\"5.0301\" -DXS_VERSI ON=\"5.0301\" -fPIC "-I/usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/CORE" default_store.c cc1: error: unrecognized command line option "-fstack-protector" cc1: error: invalid parameter `ssp-buffer-size' default_store.c:1: error: CPU you selected does not support x86-64 instruction s et default_store.c:1: error: bad value (generic) for -mtune= switch make[1]: *** [default_store.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/amit/netsnmp/net-snmp-5.3.1/perl/default_store ' make: *** [subdirs] Error 2 Regards - AMit ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
