I don't know - this idea is at a very early stage.
As I've already said several times - *nothing* is going to happen
until 5.4 is out of the door.

But I'm pretty sure that everything would be handled within the same
thread - the Net-SNMP agent framework is not designed with
multi-threading in mind.  And tryiing to shoe-horn this in without a
clear understanding of the implications would probably cause more
problems than it solved.

I'm *hopeful* that the problem here is a deadlock between try to
read/write on the same socket,  and using two different sockets should
fix things.
   But that is *NOT* a guarantee, and it may prove necessary to think
about using a completely separate thread.  In which case this would
delay implementation even further.


But I'll repeat once more - nothing is likely to happen regarding this
issue until significantly after 5.4.   There is a finite amount of
time that each of us can spend on this project, and we cannot delay
making releases indefinitely.   There comes a point at which we need
to prioritise where the effort is directed - and this issue falls on
the wrong side of the line, IMO.
