I'm not sure what gave you that idea.
I haven't had time to install FreeBSD 6.1 yet, and it may
well depend on the installation choices you made.
  But checking the discs, FreeBSD definitely *does*
include an SNMP agent - (though not Net-SNMP).

Try looking for 'bsnmpd'

It sounds very much as if this *is* running on your system.
If you have any questions about it, I suggest you ask the
FreeBSD people.  It's not something we can help with.
