I've been reading through the mail list archives and found that a couple of
people have experienced the same problem that I have been, but I haven't
been able to find any satisfactory answers to the issue. I'm currently
running Solaris 10 and I'm trying to compile Net-SNMP 5.3.1. I'm using gcc
3.4.6. For some reason, no matter what I try to do, I can not get the IPv6
transports enabled. Running "./configure --enable-ipv6" will complete, but
the UDPIPv6 and TCPIPv6 transports will not be listed as available.
Net-SNMP configuration summary:
---------------------------------------------------------
SNMP Versions Supported: 1 2c 3
Net-SNMP Version: 5.3.1
Building for: solaris2
Network transport support: Callback Unix TCP UDP
If I try to run ./configure --enable-ipv6 --with-transports="UDP UDPIPv6
TCPIPv6 TCP", the configure script will get to the point where it checks for
the stack type and then dies with the following message:
checking ipv6 stack type... "unknown, no"
checking for platform-specific source...
checking for and configuring transport modules to use...
configure: error: IPv6 transports not available if IPv6 support is not
enabled
Looking in the config.log file, I find the following:
configure:12584: checking ipv6 stack type
conftest.c:44:45: /usr/local/v6/include/sys/types.h: No such file or
directory
conftest.c:44:22: features.h: No such file or directory
configure:12758: result: "unknown, no"
configure:12788: checking for platform-specific source
configure:12821: result:
configure:12823: result:
configure:12829: checking for and configuring transport modules to use
configure:12906: error: IPv6 transports not available if IPv6 support is not
enabled
Do I need to install some other pre-requisite libraries/headers/packages in
order to get the IPv6 enabled on under Solaris 10?
