Hi,
 
While compiling the net-snmp code on linux i am getting the following error.
 
-L/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE -lperl -lnsl -ldl -lm -lpthread -lc -lcrypt -lutil
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libbeecrypt.la' or unhandled argument `/usr/lib/libbeecrypt.la'
make[1]: *** [snmpd] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/amit/SNMP-PROJECT/Source/net-snmp-5.4/agent'
make: *** [subdirs] Error 1

Oops .. I looked at the place /usr/lib to find libbeecrypt.so.6 instead of libbeecrypt.la
 
What i understand from this is libbeecrypt.so.6 is a shared library, loaded at the runtime whereas net-snmp compiler is looking for libbeecrypt.la which must be static library.
Cp or (ln -s) of available library(libbeecrypt.so.6) to libbeecrypt.la will not help as the available library is a shared library.
what shall i do now ?
