Dynamic Vs Shared Libraries based Master Agent & Sub Agent

Hi,

 

I have built a Sub-Agent using the static linking options for the net
snmp libraries.

 

Now I run this sub-agent on a target platform where the master agent is
compiled with dynamic libraries option.

 

Both the exes run and I get a confirmation from the Sub-Agent that it is
up and running (based on the debug comments that I have in it).

 

To check if they work properly or not, I make a sysUpTime query, for
which I get the response.

 

Whereas on the other hand, if I make a query for a parameter which is
implemented by the Sub-Agent, I don't get any response and eventually
the snmpget call timeouts.

 

What is the reason for this???  Does it mean that the AgentX
communication is not established between the master agent and the sub
agent???

Or is it the problem caused due to the dynamic and static linking of
these two entities???

 

I am not able to get the actual reason behind this.  Any thoughts on
this?
