(previously sent 4 Dec 06) If I create a user (createUser directive in /var/net-snmp/snmpd.conf), it appears in the USM table as active & nonVolatile, and is still there when snmpd is stopped. Any changes made (e.g. through snmpusm) are also saved. Now, if I add a trapsess line to (the other) snmpd.conf file using the above user's details, that user is destroyed - the entry is marked as read only, and is not saved to the persistent config file on agent exit. The upshot of this is that the same user cannot be used for gets/sets and also traps while being able to remotely administer the user's details. Is this intentional, a bug, or have I missed something else? Version Info: Netsnmp 5.3.0.1 on various Linux distros.
