MIB parser api

Hi, 

I'm new to net-snmp. I would appreciate some pointers on how to use
net-snmp to parse mib files and walk the definitions contained in it. 

My intention is not to create an agent but a manager app that can poll
new devices, given their mib definitions.(Like a mib browser with
support for snmp GETs) I need to load/read the required mibs for this
purpose. I assume therefore that a mib parser + validater is what I
require. 

Which are the sections in the api/man pages/samples/sources that I
should look at to get this information?
