First thing, can you *PLEASE* not send the same request again
and again and again.  The volunteers that provide support for
this project do so in our spare time - any assistance has to fit
around our paid employment.  And the more intrusive such
requests become, the less time (and effort) will be available
to support the project.

The Net-SNMP suite relies on whatever encryption technology is
installed on the target system - most typically OpenSSL.  We do
not ship any encryption routines in the Net-SNMP source itself.

That depends on how the trap is generated.
If it's sent with a securityLevel of 'authPriv' then it will be
encrypted.
If it's sent with a securityLevel of 'authNoPriv' or 'noAuthNoPriv',
then it won't.

None.
Encryption and authentication are two separate concepts.
Authentication simply uses a digital checksum (typically
MD5 or SHA) to sign the request - it doesn't encrypt anything
itself.
