Thank you for this fast reply, About notification generator and Receiver: Here is an example with 2 computer A (with Manager) and B (with Agent and its MIB). In fact in our method (what we plan), we want to send a message (then wait for an ack) from A to B, then on B we do not save it in the MIB, but use directly by an application running on B (= the received notification by the agent on B will be write in a fifo, later read by our application). So, can I send a "snmptrap or inform" from A to B. Usually the generator is on the Agent side (B) and the snmptrapd daemon (receiver) is on the manager side (A). If I not misunderstood your answer A and B can be both generator and receiver at the same time, which mean the command-line "snmptrap or inform" can be used either on A or B independantly from the fact that B is normally the Agent (containing the filled MIB) and A the Manager (having the MIB structure (OID...) but not filled).
