Building snmpd enquiry

First off new here, so the question may be somewhat elementary .

I am cross compiling snmpd and am using the following configuration command:

  ./configure --disable-snmpv2c --disable-snmpv1 --disable-applications --disable-manauls --disable-scripts --disable-debugging --target=ppc-linux --host=ppc --with-cc=ppc_6xx-gcc --without-rpm --without-rpm --with-endianness=big

I then do a make and it builds fine and actaully does run fine with my current tests.

However, here is my issue.......when I just build with these configuraiton optiions it creates a statically linked executable.
But when I build with no options and use "make install" it creates a dynamically linked executable.

Due to the nature of the beast( embedded) I have limited space thus require to have the smallest snmpd.

Does anyone know what swich to turn on/off to create a dynamically linked exectuatble............

Regards
Carla
