Yes - that's exactly how the Net-SNMP agent works.
The basic mechanism uses netsnmp_register_handler(),
although depending on the type of MIB object or OID you're
implementing, there may be other registration calls that
use various helpers to do some/most of the work for you.

See the various example and actual implementations under
'agent/mibgroup'. It's hard to be more precise without a
better idea of what type of OID you're working with.
