net-snmp subagent compatibility

Hello all,

I would like to know if there is any way to build my (custom) subagent
binary which works well on different operating systems (e.g., Redhat EL4,
EL5, Suse9, 10), each of which has different net-snmp versions and
configuration options.

There is a problem when I build my subagent on one machine and run it on the
other machine which has different net-snmp configure options. For example, I
have two machines; machine A has binary-installed net-snmp 5.3.0.1 and
machine B has source-installed (with default options) net-snmp 5.3.0.1. When
I build my subagent on machine B and run it on machine A, it generates
undefined symbol error (boot_DynaLoader).

I tried to look up the solution in this list, but couldn't find one. If some
vendors want to build their subagent and distribute it (not including
net-snmp package), is there any general way to do it without dependency to
specific net-snmp versions or configuration options?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Sukwoo Kang
