Hello i am trying to get ipsec counters from a cisco7200 + ipsec accelerator the cisco TAC tells me to "load" the CISCO-IPSEC-MIB into my network management station (here net-snmp-tools !) I wonder if it is realy necessary, for me , MIBs tell the SNMP client how to translate the values into more human-readable formats, and thats all !? it's kind of ip adresses vs FQDN adresses in the DNS . has long I I know which numeric oid I want to get , I don't need to integrate/compile a mib file ? TAC tells me to get mib file and compile them from: http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseMIB.do?local=en&step=2&mibName=CISCO-IPSEC-MIB foir exemple there's in this mib the oid: "cipsIPsecStatistics" "1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.62.1.2.2" unfortunatly I get nothing interresting from these oids :-( [root@cacti /] $ snmpwalk -v 2c -c secret 192.168.8.1 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.62.1.2.2 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.10.62.1.2.2.1.0 = Counter32: 0 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.10.62.1.2.2.2.0 = Counter32: 0 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.10.62.1.2.2.3.0 = Counter32: 0 I do get counters values in cli however: r7206-01# show pas vam interface > > VPN Acceleration Module Version II+ in slot : 1 > > Statistics for Hardware VPN Module since the last clear > > of counters 3212003 seconds ago > > 3009380 packets in 3009380 packets > > out > > 2512048594 bytes in 2542681677 bytes > out any advices ?
