You meant this: snmpget -v 2c -c private 127.1:8333 MY-MIB::<numeric_or_string_oid>.0 This works. The command line tools all work with MY-MIB and the agent (snmpset, snmpget. snmpwalk etc). I also use a MIB browser and I'm able to manage it just fine. Only the python library seems to get blocked somewhere.
