Built an Agent

Hi,

I need to built an application using the net-snmp, but I am not sure 
if this is possible or the right way of doing it.

I have an application 
that currently is logging every event occurred.  What I would like to built is; 
an snmp agent to send a filtered result from this log-file, for example, sending 
the messages that where logged after a particular time or sending only the error 
messages occurred, so that the administrator can see what exactly 
happened.
Later on I would also like to add some notifications to report a 
particular error or alarm.

So, is it possible to built such an agent 
using the net-snmp agent extensibility, where the extended agent will produce 
and report the search result obtained from the log-file to the snmp 
manager?

I am not really sure if the snmp protocol is the right way to do 
this!! 

Any help or suggestions please!?
