Timing and Performance between two versions of net-snmp

Hello Everyone,
I hope this is the correct place to post my question. I am trying to
compare net-snmp v4.2.1 and v5.0.7 on Solaris 9 and 10. I am seeing a large
discrepency in the amount of time an snmpbulkwalk is taking between these
versions on Solaris 9. On Solaris 10, they are both taking quite some
time.

Solaris 9: net-snmp v4.2.1 snmpbulkwalk takes ~3-5 minutes to return data
from my device. This is acceptable.
Solaris 9: net-snmp v5.0.7 snmpbulkwalk takes ~25 minutes to return data
from the same device, from the same machine.

Can anybody help me determine why v5.0.7 is taking such a longer time than
v4.2.1? I'm not sure if I need to provide more data, but I can do my best.
This is very puzzling. On Solaris 10, I am getting the ~25 minute range for
both versions of net-snmp. I have even tried v5.22 (I think that's the
version) as v5.0.7 appears to be end-of-lifed. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks!! Jay
