Replacing standard ifTable

Hi,

Meant to follow up previous thread, company mail server hosed. I'm
using 5.3, on Fedora core 5, i386.

I'm trying to re-implement the ifTable from the standard IF-MIB with
contrived data. I have an ifTable subagent working. I'm unable to
browse the MIB through the snmpd (attached through agentX) because the
built-in MIB takes control. Wondering if there are ways to registed
my table first, before the built-in?

I have the 5.3 source d/led, should I replace the default ifTable
implementation with my MFD agent code? Will this compile?

Should I remove the default ifTable and re-compile snmpd, then use
agentX to register my version?

Is there an API call to subvert an existing registration?

I'm just looking for easy, this isn't production s/w. Short but ugly is good.

Thanks again.
