I would be worried about ld(1) dying with a KILL signal. Try creating
and compiling a simple C program with and without the gcc parameters
above and see what happens. If it fails then your GCC installation is
broken. If it works then it's more likely to be an environment issue and
something that this group can help you with, but first steps first,
compile a Hello World program and see what happens.
