Hello all, I'm attempting to work through the subagent tutorial that can be found at: http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/TUT:Writing_a_Subagent (I am using Fedora Core 6 with version 5.3.1 of net-SNMP). I have downloaded the files in that tutorial and I can compile the subagent as described and when I run it (as root) I get the following message: > NET-SNMP version 5.3.1 AgentX subagent connected. When I then run the command > snmpget -v2c -c public localhost NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentSubagentObject.0 instead of the response shown in the tutorial I get a message telling me that it cannot find the module (NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB). I can fix this either by requesting the value with the numeric object ID or by copying the MIB to the directory /usr/share/snmp/mibs. Then I get an error that says (it now doesn't matter if I reference by textual or numerical object ID): > NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentSubagentObject.0 = No Such Object available on this agent at this object ID. I can't seem to get beyond this stage and would greatly appreciate any help that you can give Thanks in advance Phil Mason ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
