Can snmptrapd be started without libperfstat in aix4.3?

I downloaded the net-snmp-5.2.tar binary for aix 4.3. I only need snmptrapd daemon from the whole snmp package. When I launch snmptrapd then it asks for libperfstat. Is there a way to launch the daemon without providing the libperfstat? I do not have that libperfstat in my AIX and, if I try to installl bos.perf then a lot of requirements are needed, so, as I a am not using the hosts mib, I do not really need that library, but I would like to have the snmptrapd daemon started.
