problem with the embedded snmpd

hi,all : I tried to embed the snmpd to a arm-linux system.But something puzzled me .I'm looking forward to your help! I've done the cross-compile work alreay,and it worked well. After that,i copy the snmpd.o and snmpd.conf into the arm-linux platform. but the file system in my embedded platform is "cramfs",as you know, the file system can be read only,except one directory:/tmp/yaffs on this platform. so i copy the snmpd.o and snmpd.conf into this directory. the question is : when i run the snmpd,it can not find the snmpd.conf. It looks like snmpd is only fond of the directory:/usr/local/share/ snmp. And when i use mib-browser software to get some OID's value, a error "cannot connect to remote SNMP agent" arise. And for some other reason,i can not creat a new file system for the embedded platform. How to fix this problem? Can I change the default directory where snmpd often search for its snmpd.conf? If i can,how to do is?
