but once I started net-snmp, my ethernet sensors were not collecting
data.

What OID were you using with prtg?

What are your ethernet interfaces?

Are you using the same community string?

Any ideas? What is the OID for the ethernet
<http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1386636&page=1#> interfaces
(inbound and outbound) with net-snmp 5.4.

snmpwalk should be reporting it within IF-MIB (IIUC).

What do you mean by adding a sensor? Is it reported by
/usr/platform/sun4u/sbin/prtdiag -v? kstat? prtpicl?
