The significant factor here is that you can (at least potentially) create a new row in the table, and specify values for these particular objects. It may or may not be possible to change these values once the row has been created - the DESCRIPTION should specify if subsequent writes are prohibited. By contrast, a instance of a "read-write" object can (potentially) be written to once it exists, but you can't provide a value as part of creating a new row.
