If you are using 'send_v2trap', then presumably this is sending a trap from within the agent? You do not need to change the code at all, in order to generate SNMPv3 notifications. Remember that the version, destination and administrative settings of outgoing traps are *totally* controlled by the snmpd.conf file. It doesn't matter whether you use 'send_v2trap' or 'send_easy_trap' - the results are the same. Please see the FAQ entry How can I get the agent to send an SNMPv3 trap (or inform)? http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ:Coding_19 Dave ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
