Question about Net-SNMP Timeout value

Hello!

I am a newbie to Net-SNMP.

Currently, I am trying to test the response of Net-SNMP in case of 
invalid Parameter input.
Example:
  Invalid community name
However, Timeout occurs in Net-SNMP

Valid Test: 
>snmpget -v1 -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.4.0
>SNMPv2-MIB::sysContact.0 = STRING: [email protected]
Invalid Test:
>snmpget -v1 -c common localhost .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.4.0
> Timeout: No Response from localhost.

Question:
1. May I know the default timeout and retry count value of snmpget?
2. Does snmptrap also supports Retry and timeout?
3. Does Net-SNMP really do not check valid parameter values?
   Ex: community name.


Btw, I am currently using net-snmpv5.4.1 in Linux, RedHat AS3 OS.
