pass command in snmpd.conf doesn't work as expected

Hello,

following the example in the snmpd.conf (and a number of articles and 
postings) I have entered the following line:

pass .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.255 /bin/bash /bin/root.sh


The script root.sh is executeable and looks like this:

#! /bin/bash

echo "42"

# End

According to the example I enter

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.255

And the response is

UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.255 = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID

Where's me mistake?
