load MIBs and receive traps

Hi List, I am new to net-snmp. Okay I am looking around at all the documentation and all I am looking to do is install a bunch of MIB files in a program and receive the traps and have the program report I am wondering if snmptrapd can report the trap based on the NOTIFICATION data found in the mib files?
