about session.peername

hi, I run snmpd at the local machine,and when session.peername = "127.0.0.1" the get procedure can get the value correctly but when session.peername = "192.168.17.42"(my localhost's IP) it's timeout,why? And when session.peername = "255.255.255.255" it display:"No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging snmpget: Failure in sendto (No such file or directory)",why?
