Are you talking about a pre-compiled binary version,
or where 'snmpd' is in the context of the source tree.

The program is the agent binary, so would be found in the
directory 'agent' of the source tree.    Binary packages can
be found on the project website (http://www.net-snmp.org/)
or may be part of the vendor-supplied distribution, depending
on your O/S.

That doesn't make sense.   The snmpd agent is part of the
Net-SNMP suite.
