Hi, I got a similar problem, too. while I was setting sysLoction.0 by snmpset I got a "noSuchName" but I didn't forget the "instance subidentifier" cyberj@cyberj-desktop:~$ snmpget -v1 -c private localhost sysLocation.0 SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 = STRING: Unknown (configure /etc/snmp/snmpd.local.conf) cyberj@cyberj-desktop:~$ snmpset -v1 -c private localhost sysLocation.0 s adsfasd Error in packet. Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB. Failed object: SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 I read the tutorial "Why can't I set any variables in the MIB?<http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ:Applications_12> " but I didn't catch the point what it described.
