Net-Snmp poolling frequency

Hi, Does anyone know how can I change the polling frequency of the net-snmp agent. I have net-snmp 5.4 version running in a ubuntu machine and if I, for instance, do a get to interfaces counters the data is only updated after 30 seconds (more or less). If I look in proc the data is updated each second or so. Is this a snmp issue?
