Do I need to remove the exsting one or not?. It is definitely worth removing any existing installation of SNMP before trying to install a new version. It's an obvious source of confusion - we have had countless reports of people not seeing their new MIB information, and it's turned out that they are still running the original, vendor-supplied agent. Once you're more comfortable with the software, you might be able to get away with having multiple versions installed in parallel. But to start with, I would definitely recommend working with just one version at a time.
