RE: snmpd error

>From my personal experience on win32/Cygwin your snmpd.exe did not find the directory where the MIB files are located.

You can specify this directory in a snmp.conf file that should contain:

mibdirs /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs

 

Note: this path is correct if you installed your net-snmp delivery in /usr/local.

This snmp.conf file may be in several locations, but from my test the one that works is $HOME/.snmp directory.

I compiled 5.4.1 on win32 with cygwin, have the error messages running the agent. With the error messages, I can locate the module files (ended with .txt) under c:/snmp54/share/snmp/mibs. I guess the agent should know the mibs location but I'm not sure. There are 57 module files under c:/snmp54/share/snmp/mibs, only 25 are not found.

Also I don't understand the "registration != duplicate" lines.

Please somebody help.
