No - you have correctly understood the usage of the
mteTriggerTargetTag - it *is* indeed meant to store
information about the remote target.


What I'm saying is that the Net-SNMP agent might not
actually implement this behaviour - it's quite possible that
the existing code only handles local targets.

If no-one writes the necessary code, then no.

As I said before - have a look at the "session" field in the event/trigger
structures.

Use the "target" tag to retrieve information from the relevant tables
(elsewhere in the agent).   It sounds as if you've understood how
the MIB structures all fit together - now it's just a matter of applying
that to the Net-SNMP implementation.

As far as the Net-SNMP project is concened, this is a mailing list,
not a Usenet group.
   It's quite possible that someone is filtering the list into a newsgroup,
but I don't know where that's handled - it's not something that we do.
You'd have to speak to the people who are doing this to check their
arrangements for handling posts to the newsgroup.
