Hi,

I'm trying to run the Net-SNMP extensible agent with AgentX support on
my PC running Windows XP.

I've added the following commands to my snmpd.conf file:

agentxSocket localhost:705

master agentx

When I restart the Net-SNMP Agent service, I get the following error
box:

When I look at the snmpd.log file I see the following messages:

Turning on AgentX master support.

No support for any checked transport domain

Error: Couldn't open a master agentx socket to listen on
(localhost:705):

I've tried to change the port number but it still didn't work.

Only if I turn off the AgentX (Master Agent) support then I succeed to
start the service again.

Do you have any idea what may be wrong?

Do you happen to use the AgentX support on Windows XP successfully?

Thanks a lot,

Dudi.
