Size of MIB variable using mib2c

Hi everybody, I am writing mib2c configuration file, we intend to create a code framework for agent from this. I have a requirement to find out the size of string-type MIB variables - unfortunately I could not figure out how to find the size of string variable, I need this for malloc memory allocation. I found $var.oidlength, which gives oid length at: http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/man/mib2c.conf.html My requirement will be quite similar to this to find string length. Please help.
