Two possibilities spring to mind:

   a)  The agent has been configured to allow access from localhost,
         but not from anywhere else.

         What are the access control settings in your snmpd.conf file?
         (Either "ro/rwcommunity" or "com2sec" lines in particular)

  b)  The Linux server is running a firewall (iptables),
        which is blocking access from the remote browser.


If I had to choose, I suspect that the second is the most likely cause.
Check that the iptables configuration allows access to port 161
from the network.
