Thanks for that information. I have /etc/host.allow file on the same system as the SNMP Agent. So I will write a new MIB and will add object ids as per the requirements. I will also write code to implement this MIB. But now the problem is : I added ALL:ALL in /etc/host.deny file (using KWrite or vi-editor) present on agent's system and commented remaining lines in the file. So now it must block localhost from accessing any OIDs. The snmpget command should time-out. But I can still do snmpget on the agent's machine, it is giving expected results and there is absolutely no error for accesing any existing OIDs. Why is this happening? The Linux that I am using is OpenSuse 10.2 (32-bit).
