Slow Loading Issue

I've searched and searched, but haven't found anyone else with this issue. System: CentOS 4 completely up to date Net-SNMP: CentOS RPMs net-snmp-libs-5.1.2-11.el4_6.11.2 net-snmp-devel-5.1.2-11.el4_6.11.2 net-snmp-5.1.2-11.el4_6.11.2 net-snmp-utils-5.1.2-11.el4_6.11.2 Issue: command line binaries such as snmpwalk, etc... take 4-5 seconds to "load" before displaying results. For instance a simple snmpwalk -v 2c -c public 127.0.0.1 .1 or just the command without any arguments snmpwalk pauses for roughly 4-5 seconds and then displays the results (or no hostname + --help for the last command). I have also compiled my own net-snmp-5.4.1 with the same results. A side effect of this is that it causes things like "php -v" to also take 4-5 seconds, as the php-snmp module is also installed and slows down the php cli binary in the same way. I have 2 systems showing the exact same issue, and 2-3 systems without the issue. All RPMs are the exact same version on each of them, snmpd.conf is exactly the same on each of them. Running GDB doesn't seem to give me anything useful. Without debugging info shows "(no debugging symbols found)" several times, then pauses for the 5 seconds before displaying the results. With debugging info does the same thing, just doesn't display the "(no debugging symbols found)". Any help would be appreciated.
