Greetings to all! I would like some explanations, I need concepts to understand traps. I know that traps are events not requested and how to know if they are happing? How to force some traps? How to know if the NMS (Network Management Station) is receiving the traps? The softwares are: Agent: windows xp and net-snmp 5.4.1 NMS: Linux ubuntu and NET-SNMP 5.3.1 After it, other question is the following: I saw an example of snmptrapd.conf file traphandle IF-MIB::linkUp /home/nba/bin/traps up What will the /home/nba/bin/traps file do? Is possible this file send a mail to me, for example? This sample is located in http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/TUT:Configuring_snmptrapd#Matching_SNMPv2_OIDs Thank you very much.
