Working with traps

Hi! Please, I need more help. I run snmpd and snmptrapd on the NMS and snmpd on the agent. The messages in the log file show only authenticationFailure of NMS on NMS machine. Nothing relay from agent to NMS. What is lacking? How force a trap? I saw many example in the internet and I don´t get. Thank you very much.
